These eye drops and ointments contain a combination of a steroid and one or more types of antibiotic for treatment of infection and inflammation of the eye. The steroid reduces inflammation while the antibiotic treats or prevents infection which may be the cause of the infection. Examples of steroids that are used in these eye drops are hydrocortisone, loteprednol, prednisolone, and dexamethasone . Examples of antibiotics used in these formulations include tobramycin, neomycin, bacitracin, polymixin B, and gentamycin. These antibiotics have different mechanisms of action and two or three may be combined in one formulation.
“I just wanted you to know that the improvement in my vision is amazing. I had gotten to the point where I could no longer drive due to haziness from my cataracts, and now I feel very secure and am able to see almost as well as before my cataracts were diagnosed- also I have not noticed any kind of side effects. I just wanted to tell you how happy I am and that I am definitely recommending Can-C eye-drops to all my friends with similar problems! If you need me for any referrals or statistics I would be happy to help! Please keep on with the great work!”
Hi: This is heart breaking indeed. So, the bad news is that cataracts have begun to form, especially in one eye. The good news is that your horse still has sight out of one good eye and some sight out of the eye with the cataract. Research on Can-C reports that application of the Can-C eye drops as directed results in about 95% improvement in the subjects that were studied. Subjects have been dogs and humans – not horses – but researchers concluded that the Can-C helps reverse cataracts in all mammals including horses in, again, 95% of the cases. So, it is certainly worth a try, especially to insure that the good eye remains clear of a cataract.
