When I initially started research for this piece, I consulted not only real-life athletes who had vast experience with anabolic steroid use, but also scientific and medical journals. The picture that unfolded before me was very different from the one typically painted by the mass media, and certainly much different than the one I found on http:// , http:// , and http:// . Honestly, my research on the governmental sites revealed very little useful information. There were numerous unfounded claims, and plenty of talk about money being put into "studies". In reality, the government “studies” on anabolic steroids were not medical studies at all. They were surveys given to various age groups, on steroid use, in order to generate statistics. There was nothing of medical value or scientific merit on those sites, despite the endless parade of doctors that seemed to be against their use. Here´s an example of one of the more absurd claims made on one of those sites: Thank you all…

February 7, 2016. A task force of several Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) officers  and border policemen burst into Chisinau International Airport and discover, among packages of „Posta Moldovei” ready to be loaded on a plane, 15 postal bags containing 387 packages of anabolics masked as books and advertisement products. SIS qualifies it as a „record” contraband, and the value of the goods is estimated at hundreds of thousands of euros. The news about the seizure spreaded in the majority of Moldovan media outlets, but the real reverberation occured at thousands of kilometers away from Chisinau, in the US, where many sportspeople – amateurs or professionals – were awaiting the packages ordered from Moldova and were wondering if Moldovan intelligence service officers would reach them. „Does anyone know if the US is involved in this operation? I would not say, but I know about its involvement in similar stuff in Thailand”, says a consumer of anabolics on an American forum.

@MelbourneStar like you see people still don't know his ethnicy that's why i told you to change the first sentence :P @KpoT seems like you have no clue about zyzz because he said very often he is kurdish from armenia and born in russia (zyzz born in russia, parents born in Armenia, but neither russians or armenians but kurds) zyzz said this on his formspring very often, also chestbrah did. so should say something like "Shavershian was an Russian-born Australian, ethnic Kurdish bodybuilder... Or the first sentence could stay and the second one could be like "Shavershian was an ethnic Kurd from Armenia." just to make this whole discussion clear
