Impaired DNA repair mechanisms may contribute to earlier depletion of the ovarian reserve during aging. As women age, double-strand breaks accumulate in the DNA of their primordial follicles. Primordial follicles are immature primary oocytes surrounded by a single layer of granulosa cells. An enzyme system is present in oocytes that ordinarily accurately repairs DNA double-strand breaks. This repair system is called " homologous recombinational repair", and it is especially effective during meiosis. Meiosis is the general process by which germ cells are formed in all sexual eukaryotes; it appears to be an adaptation for efficiently removing damages in germ line DNA. (See Meiosis .)
Arimistane also helps drastically reduce cortisol levels, which is a huge benefit during intense training sessions which will normally inevitably lead to your body spiking its’ natural cortisol levels. Cortisol is also known as the stress hormone and when it spikes in your body from intense training, it will severely limit muscle recovery if you don’t take measures to mitigate it with proper nutrition and supplementation. By keeping Cortisol low, you can expect to break through plateaus and intense levels of fatigue in your training which your body would typically not be able to achieve on its’ own.
Thank you for writing this, Elodie. This describes my current situation very well. I graduated from university a couple months ago and I’ve been applying (and being rejected) for different jobs since then. It’s -really- easy to end up spending a bunch of time in sitting in my room alone being depressed and the longer this goes on the more I feel like I’ll never be successful. There have been a couple times recently where I felt like I had been successful and then other very difficult but unrelated goals suddenly started feeling more achievable without me knowing the reason. I hadn’t made the connection with all this.
